Summary

Learn how Oriyent calculates form and asset completion using required fields, timestamps, and tracking rules — powering real-time progress indicators.

Overview

Oriyent uses form completion percentages to visually track inspection progress across assets and collections. These percentages power the color changes on the map — helping you quickly spot what’s done, what’s pending, and where attention is needed.

Progress is calculated based on how many required fields have been completed on each assigned form.

What Counts Toward Completion?

Field Toggle

Contribution to %

Notes

✅ Required

✔ Yes

Must be completed to increase form completion

🕒 Timestamp

✔ Optional

Captured automatically if enabled

📍 Location

✔ Optional

Tracked if toggled on

⬜ Optional Field

❌ No

Not factored into completion %

Only fields marked Required in the Template Designer are used to calculate the progress bar and percentage.

Example Calculation

Let’s say a form has:

  • 10 total fields

  • 6 of them marked as Required

If a user completes 3 required fields and skips the rest:

Progress = (3 ÷ 6) × 100 = 50%

That form will display as 🟠 50% complete, and the associated asset pin on the map will begin transitioning from red to green.

Multi-Form Asset Progress

When multiple forms are assigned to a single asset:

  • Oriyent averages the completion percentages of all forms

  • That average determines the asset’s total progress score

This average is also used when tracking progress by Collections and Data Groups.
