Overview

QR codes allow field teams to quickly access asset-specific forms with a scan — no searching, no clicking through layers of menus. Each asset in Oriyent can generate a live QR code linked to its current assigned inspection forms.

These QR codes are perfect for printing and placing on equipment, signage, or areas where inspections are regularly performed.

What You’ll Need

  • An asset with at least one form assigned

  • Project access with Creator, Collaborator, or Admin role

  • Printer or label-maker (for physical use)

  • Mobile device with a QR scanner or camera app

How to Generate a QR Code

  1. Go to the Data tab

  2. Click into the relevant Data Group

  3. Find the asset you want to generate a QR code for

  4. Click on the asset row to open the detail view

  5. Look for the QR Code icon

  6. A preview and download option will appear for the asset.

  7. Click Download or Print directly from your browser

The QR code links to a secure, live URL for that asset’s current inspection forms.

What Happens When You Scan the Code?

Scanning the QR code opens a mobile-friendly page in Oriyent with:

  • All active forms for the asset

  • Pre-filled asset information

  • File upload, photo capture, and real-time submission

  • Status updates synced instantly

Use Cases

  • Tag equipment with inspection QR codes

  • Post stickers near lights, pumps, signs, or entry points

  • Share codes with subcontractors for one-off checks

  • Speed up audits by jumping straight to forms on-site

Security and Access

  • Only users with project permissions can submit or view forms

  • Links are tokenized and secure

  • QR codes remain active until the form or asset is deleted or reassigned
